The Returned Peace Corps Volunteers for Environment and Development
was formed in 1991 to serve as a focal point for action on
environment and development issues for Peace Corps alumni and
friends.
As Peace Corps Volunteers, we learned first-hand that improving the
lives of the people with whom we work cannot be separated from the
protection of the environment and the sustainable use of resources.
RPCV-E&D members promote an interrelated approach to environment and
development through education and advocacy.
Members of RPCVs for Environment and Development receive Under the
Village Tree four times a year. The newsletter covers current issues
in sustainable development, both domestic and international. Article
submissions from recently returned volunteers and RPCVs working on
relevant issues are welcome.
RPCVs-E&D also has several active committees, focusing on education,
advocacy, biodiversity and population issues. Members sponsor
workshops and hold regular meetings at the National Peace Corps
Association's annual conference. For membership information and to
